How come something strange and unusual is discovered, people have to study it or destroy it?

If they find a mermaid or a Locness monster or someother type of strange living creature, they have to take matters into their own hands. They’ll put the creature into a zoo or lock it up somewhere forever. Usually it is mistreated or neglected. They’ll use the creature for their own benifit. That kind of stuff really pisses me off when they mess with the unknown.

Why can’t people leave the unknown alone? Let them live in peace. If it’s strange and new, then so what?

You just go ahead and show me when we’ve ever mistreated a loch ness monster or a mermaid.

    Long live my race.

    FEAR.

People who are afraid tend to think and act irrationally.

And if anything is perceived as an imagined or real threat it must be eradicated and if it can’t be eradicated…run away very fast!

It’s in man’s nature to destroy beautiful or different things.

Don’t worry there is always something left undiscovered but for there to be more of these we have to break apart and Analise the things we know.Paradoxical ain’t it!

People fear what they don’t understand. Don’t worry about it later the earth will be our generations and you can help contribute to the way things are studied.

?? Are you watching fictional movies about fictional creatures?

    Movies are not reality.

As to the unknown, I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Imho, this is a good question for the Mythology & Folklore section. If these creatures are ever found, I sure hope Greenpeace and other ecological groups step in – - FAST!

When I look into subjects such as these, I find our ancestors were giving us a sense of morals, sort of like the parables in the Bible. They were telling us how to live our lives and to have respect for all living things (well, that’s my explaination anyway) and to take care of ourselves as well.

Sometimes our curiousity or our greed to make money, to achieve fame, or our search of physical facts gets in the way of the essence of these creatures. And we replace them with creepy, scary urban ledgends that instill fear and not a life lesson.
