Nicole<3 asked:

okay so ive heard about the swine flu in mexico b4, but today at school we got notices and like warnings about the “pandemic” saying that we have to be careful because its in the bay area in south CA where our community lives. so, im probably overreacting and stuffs, but does that mean its going to spread between hundreds of people and everything!?!?!? I am really freaking out because people in downtown SJ have been heard to have it which is only 20 mins away from our community. Is it true that there’s no cure and that teenagers can easily die from it?!?!

gosh now i really regret watching I AM LEGEND lol!
all answers and information are greatly appreciated! (:

Yes it will spread very fast. You are not over reacting. You should be a bit worried. It is very dangerous and very infectious. If you start to be sick go to the HOSPITAL (not the doctor) IMMEDIATELY! Symptoms don’t show until later if you get it. Also wear a doctors mask and tell youfriends and family to wear a doctors mask too.

start to improve your health eat 1-6 cloves of fresh choped garlic a day. sprinkle ground cinnamon on your cereal.

Fresh garlic is the best natural antibiotic you can get.iv had abscess teeth for 15 years and IM still here.with garlic my colds usually last 1-2 days or less.

drink lemon juice 1-2 teaspoons in 8 ounces of water [distilled] preferably.vinegar works the same but taste nasty.

start slow on the garlic because your stomach isn’t use to it.cut the clove in to small slices and scoop it onto a spoon and swish it down with a drink of water.if it burns to much drink a few mouth fulls of milk to cut the burn.

iv done around 3 cloves of garlic for 6 years now

Signs and Symptoms of Swine Flu

The swine flu outbreak of 2009 is caused by a mutated form of the swine influenza virus that can be transmitted through human contact. The H1N1 strain of swine influenza has been known to be transmitted to humans, and intimate contact like sneezing or kissing can transfer the virus between people. Like most forms of influenza, swine flu among humans is highly contagious. The person harboring the swine flu virus may be contagious for up to seven days from the onset of the illness.

Here are some common signs and symptoms of swine flu among human beings:

* High fever (above 37 degrees Celsius)
* Sore throat, sneezing, and a runny nose
* Coughing and other breathing difficulties
* Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea
* Loss of appetite, drowsiness, and sleepiness.

OMG we’re all gonna die!

Symptoms of H1N1 June 23, 2009 at 11:05 pm

So far most the US cases are people who have been to Mexico. People in the US aren’t dying of it so far- some people have had it and gotten over it already and are fine. Just worry if you get a really high fever- as soon as you feel ill take some medicine. Treat it like you would to aviod a cold- wash your hands, keep them off your face and take vitamin C

Vaccine for H1N1 June 26, 2009 at 12:20 pm

People have only died from it in Mexico. There are a lot of possible reasons for that. For example:

1. Most strains of flu spread best in cold weather. This strain might spread best in hot weather. Americans might be less affected because they get smaller doses. Someone sneezes, and a lot of the flu virus in the air dies before it infects you. But if the air is hot and humid, maybe this strain of flu survives better, so you get more of it in one infection.

2. People in Mexico don’t get flu as often as Americans because they don’t have the cold weather where flu spreads best. So a lot of them might not have any immunity at all. Americans get lots of strains of flu, and some of those might give them partial immunity to this one, so they would only get a mild case of it.

3. The disease that’s killing Mexicans might be a combination of two diseases. Swine flu plus something else, working together. That second disease might be local to some Mexican communities.

4. It might be bad testing. People are dying in Mexico, and a lot of them have this flu. But the flu might turn out to be unrelated to the reason why they’re dying. When people die of disease, a lot of clinics might jump to the conclusion they died of this flu, and report it as a case where someone died of it, but they might have actually died of something else.

And there are lots of other possible reasons. But whatever the reason is, you probably don’t have to worry about this strain of flu more than any other strain.

It is a mail that arrived to me, these in your right to draw your own conclusions. The past 2 of April during the meeting of the group of G7 integrated by the EU, United R., Canada, Germany, Italy and Japan occurred 2 fundamental conclusions. 1 The world-wide economy needed a change 2 The IMF. Destinaria 500.000 million dollars to help the emergent economies, (poor countries prepared to collaborate) then the dices were in the air. 3 Soon the deprived meeting came from president Obama and Felipe Calderón 16 and 17 of April. Surprise Thursday 23 of April the president of Mexico I summon to a meeting of emergencia with its cabinet, and at night the health secretary Jose Angel Cordova Villalobos announced in national chain the appearance of the virus of influenza, and the measures immediate like the suspension of the classes to all the levels in the DF and the state of Mexico. The 24 of April the G7 declares the world-wide economy would have to start up east year and that would send all the necessary actions. Finally Monday 27 of April the pharmaceutical company Sanofi Aventis announces that it injected 100 million Euros in a new vaccine plant and would donate 236.000 doses to Mexico like support to the control of the disease. Of all the previous one we see the following thing: 1. For more than 2 years the pharmaceutical industry at world-wide level had financial problems by the loss in the medecine sale. 2. If you do not create wars it creates diseases (the world-wide economy would have to start up) 3. Perfect Mexico springboard to send the disease, would leave tourists here to different parts from the world, peculiarly the countries that report patients who were in Mexico, and which they are reinforcing their sanitary wall is the countries that integrate the G7 that rare. What spent this week that comes. Very probable the suspension of activities in all the companies of the DF and State of Mexico, or the classes were suspended until day 6 of May, where the government will make an analysis of the farce and advisable side the one that follows, or the declaration so studied ” thanks to the measures that were taken in time and the support of the citizenship we could control enfermedad” 4. Ponte to think that it is being spoken to international level now of the virus or the financial crisis. This beforehand is a lightening for the World Bank and the bags of the world. It distributes east mail to all contacts is not worth want to see the face to us they have done since it in the past, (chupacabras, ufos, contaminated milk etc.) And if you can it makes copies for the people who do not have Internet, this people as always is affected, it watches the reporters and the sales of the pharmacies it has been increased and the cost of cubrebocas already I arrive at 7 pesos imagínate the laughter of that this I orchestrate when seeing people with cubrebocas. If somebody debate that with Mexico unemployment would then lose much no, for that is the bottom that destiny the IMF, and imagínate the gains of the pharmaceutics at world-wide level, and finishes as it announcing the Secretary of Economy of Mexico by money deserts not to fight the disease, and finally the industralists would consider this unemployment a lightening and many vivales as always would pay half to its employees. The president announcement that the disease is curable, and always handles numbers to us by halves where they are the deads and where are concentrates the patients? , I Annex the following points: 1. If he is really so contagious, how and where they are the families of deads? 2. If influenza pig is a mutation of the original virus of the pigs, then the bud of the infection must have begun in the field and not in the cities. 3. Why they have not shown an interview with some patient? (I have seen that they entrevistan to relatives, saying that his relative this patient and that or is stable thanks to medecines, but the relative has been in direct bonding with the virus that the logical thing is not that he is ill or in group of forty) 4. Why they have not said the name of the retroviral that this “curing” to ill people?

H1N1 Symptoms July 1, 2009 at 8:28 am

It is possible to die form it, however in all the “Swine Flu” cases reported so far in the United States no body has died. The US has enough medicine to control it, however it is critical that if any symptoms of “Swine Flu” show up you seek medical attention immediately. It is said that if you do not seek medical attention you can die in 72 hours. We are all very worried, but the best we can do is calm down, be positive, and make sure we wash our hands every so often or use sanitizer.

I was worried too but felt much better after reading this article:

Washing your hands is a good idea. Surprisingly, garlic does have antibiotic effects. Oh, and you can’t get swine flu from eating pork products. I hope this helps!

If you feel sick like if ur getting a cold then go to the hospital!!! and don’t worry I heard today in the news that there is going to be a cure for the swine flu, scientists are working on a vaccine it should be put out in the next few days!!! watch the news!!!

H1N1 Symptoms July 11, 2009 at 1:18 pm

I just read about it and this is very serious, they said it may take months until they find a vaccine to cure up this pandemic. I would say just be cautious of your surroundings and if you see anyone with a cold avoid them!!!! i would get checked every other week since you live in the cali area and they said there had been outbreaks there

H1N1 Symptoms July 11, 2009 at 11:22 pm

“Swine Flu” is just another type of flu. It has a slightly higher fatality rate and slightly higher contamination rate than the regular influenza virus that most people have experienced once or twice, therefore the world, government and news/media have dragged this slightly out of proportion.
Most deaths have been reported in Mexico – where it is very hard for Mexican doctors to even diagnose the disease, let alone attempt to cure it. Therefore deaths through flu-like symptoms, or even regular flu, have all been put down to “swine flu”.

Swine flu broke out in 1974 (i think) and had a bit of a pandemic then. However, the strain had a vaccine against it, and i’m sure this strain will have a vaccine too.

By everyone panicing, makes the situation a lot worse.

There is no outright cure, however, by resting and taking the usual precautions you do when you have flu, and also the medication Oseltamivir, that most people know as the brand name “Tamiflu” has almost certainly proved to rid the disease in every case.

Stop worrying! :)

Vaccine for H1N1 July 17, 2009 at 2:03 pm

Pigs are also called swine!!! Swine flu is therefore is a mixture of
swine flu, bird flu, and human flu viruses.
The U.S. cases were primarily mild disease while the Mexican cases had led to multiple deaths. This is not because Mexicans are to blame or it’s there fault anyone who’s saying “stay away from Mexicans” are just ridiculous.
The death rate in mexico is so high because it’s is a country that has low standards of democratic governments, industrialization and human rights.
Anyone who has been to Mexico will know that it’s a very poor country and maby instead of putting money into unnecessary things governments should put some money into helping the Mexicans not blaming them.
It’s fantastic place with fantastic people who have NOTHING and they still walk around with smile on their face and are polite to you.

I think that if u get it and your outside mexico you have a good chance because people will help you!!!!

Today a toddler died from the swine flu. This does prove that the healthier and young you are the more likely to get it. But don’t panic. Wash your hands for 20-30 seconds with warm water and soap frequently. That’s the best that you can do so far. Vaccines aren’t out yet, but we don’t know what’s in store for the future!

H1N1 Symptoms July 23, 2009 at 2:34 pm

I personally do think that it does spread fast; && yes; you can get it

H1N1 Symptoms July 24, 2009 at 7:06 am

haha. okay. relax. there are a few outcomes that can come of this “pandemic” without even looking at the facts and what not.

1)its a total disaster, millions of people die, starting with your community seeing how close it is to the source..

2) only a few die… many or not so many get sick and thats it…

3) no one else dies besides the young, old, and already sick…. the “vulnerables”..

teens generally have better immune systems than most people. the older you get, the worse it is. the younger you are, (as in the single digits) the worse your immune system is cuz it hasn’t evolved correctly yet. people in their 20′s are in their prime. teens are right behind them.

i say you have nothing more to worry about (in respect to the swine flu) than the average seasonal flu.

to bring into context… 36,000 people a year die in the united states alone due to the average seasonal flu. Most are very young or very old or are very sick with other problems. seeing how there are around 250 million people in the united states… i say stop worrying about this swine flu thing and worry more about when you get in your car to drive to get groceries. more people die in car accidents than all the flus put together every year.

lets stop making this swine flu “epidemic” seem like such a huge deal and instead worry about the more obvious problems or risks that are right in front of our faces.

H1N1 Symptoms July 24, 2009 at 11:31 pm

Yeah so there really isn’t a cure for it, and you have to keep yourself clean. A vaccine can take up to 6 months to a year, so It will rize, and continue to kill more people unfortuntely. All you can do is be prepared for it.
